Stiltwalking with Moving Fire Arts
December was a busy month for me as a performer and I have to admit I'm still learning to shoot more behind the scenes footage.
One thing about performing is that from the moment I'm with other performers or on the job, I need to focus and manage my time well. No mistakes can be made. The car ride to Belgium was fun together so we could catch up on conversations & life.
Arriving at the location with the stilts, from that moment it gets more busy. Getting everything ready for a show takes about 2 hours. I'm usually done quickly with my make up so I could be faster but it's nice to not have to rush.
For this gig the town organised a walk through the city for it's inhabitants & together with Nick (curly haired guy in the picture) we were the opening act for the start of the walk. I did 2 rounds of 45 minutes and had to do flow arts with led spin fans on the stilts. There was another pair of stiltwalkers for when we needed to take a break.
Camille, Zoe and Lisa were LED fairies for the day, on a different position in the route. We had the same gig 2 days in a row so I slept over at Zoe her house with Nick and Lisa. It was a lot of fun & we ended up watching the movie 'Rebel Moon'.
My make up worked out a lot better on the second day & I'm still bummed I never got the pictures of the whole act since they were shot with a separate camera. Better luck next time! Hope you enjoyed this little peek into my performance <3
